A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the UK Intellectual Property Office with the aim of strengthening the current intellectual property systems through additional bilateral collaboration.
Both parties acknowledge that intellectual property plays a vital role in fostering social and economic growth as well as increasing the competitiveness of businesses and nations.
The agreement was signed by Adam Williams, chief executive and comptroller general of the UK Intellectual Property Office, and Muzraf Ikramov, deputy minister of Justice for the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The implementation of this MOU will commence from the date of both parties' signatures and will be in effect for three years.
