Uruguay and Sweden agree on a PPH pilot program

The National Directorate of Industrial Property (DNPI) of Uruguay and the Intellectual Property Office (PRV) of Sweden have signed a memorandum of understanding with a view to establishing a pilot program of the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH). The pilot will last for a period of three years.

A PPH cooperation facilitates the collaboration of IP offices and enables a multilateral work-sharing agreement. Thanks to the PPH, a faster response would be obtained from said entities, reducing the duplication of efforts, time, and processing costs to study the same patent application.
