Premier Wen Jiabao said on Thursday that developing technology, education, and cultural industries as well as raising people's livelihood should be the focuses of the country's economic restructuring.

He stressed the importance of technological advancement, and called for more investment in innovation. He also said Intellectual Property Rights should be properly used and protected. Wen Jiabao pointed out that new concepts are needed to boost cultural activities. He added that the government will further support the development of cultural innovation.
Premier Wen reiterated that ensuring employment is essential for China's economic and social development. He said the nation will further improve service industries while supporting small and medium sized companies. He also backed the establishment of a unified social security system.
