Media keen on Olympic copyright protection

It is reported from the opening ceremony of the promotion of CCTV Olympic Channel on February 27, CCTV will build up a media alliance including network and mobile alliances, to do well in copyright protection of Olympic media.

An authority from CCTV introduced, the newly-established media alliance consists of major central websites, national television station cooperative organization, famous websites, China Mobile and telecom operators.

It will conduct the digital signal processing in the area of the Chinese mainland and Macao by various means, and strengthen the protection of digital copyright, so as to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of itself and copyright holders.

According to its plan, CCTV focused on the construction of Olympic TV network – My Olympics, to broadcast all games during Beijing Olympic Games. So in order to prevent illegal activities of infringing Olympic copyright, CCTV has listed IPR protection into its top agenda. [Chinese version is available on SIPO.gov.cn]
