Beyonce sued for $7.11 million for copyright infringement regarding song 'XO'

Beyonce is being sued for copyright infringement regarding the song “XO”, the first single release from her “Beyonce” album released two years ago, according to the Sydney Morning Herald on June 15.

In this lawsuit, the accuser Ahmad Lane is asking for $7.11 million He asserts that he sent his song “XOXO” to one of Beyonce’s background singers, and there were four similarities cited between the two songs. Beyonce’s people argued that “other than perhaps the letters ‘X’ and ‘O’” the two works at issue are entirely different songs.

In response to the lawsuit, Beyonce’s people claim that the lawsuit is without any basis. The court case was filed in United States District Court Southern District of New York.
