After five overseas copyright-owners of Chinese drama series filing a lawsuit against Japanese TV station SkyperfecTV's 785 and 781 Channels, over 10 domestic artists including Wang Gang, Song Chunli and Hou Yong sent their supporting letters as well on October 28.

Wang Gang, who acted in two pirated dramas "The Hunchback Prime Minister" and "Legend of Scholar Ji Xiaolan", expressed that we resolutely oppose the behavior of Japanese TV station. When our country goes all out to combat piracy and safeguard IPR, we are astonished to hear that Japanese TV station illegally aired our drama series without authorization. Hereby, we must try our best to pummel piracy and protect our copyrights.

Another artist Hou Yong added, as a developed country who has been advocating the protection of intellectual property rights, Japan should apologize to Chinese copyright-owners and take some practical action.

According to Mr. Zhang who is responsible for this case, the preparation work for this lawsuit has been primarily perfected and the lawyer team of Japanese party is confirmed. And he also showed his confidence in winning the lawsuit. [Chinese version is available on The Beijing News]
