“Wu Liang Ye” Blocked the Trademark Application of “Wu Zhen Ye”

Recently, the trademark application of “Wu Zhen Ye” by Dukang Site Brewery in Ruyang County, Henan Province was hindered by a famous Chinese liquor producer Wu Liang Ye Group. Failed to receive support from the Trademark Office and Trademark Review and Adjudication Board of the State Administration For Industry & Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Wu Liang Ye Group brought an administrative lawsuit before the Beijing First Intermediate People’s Court. In the first instance, the court determines that comparing to the earlier trademark of “Wu Liang Ye,” the application of trademark “Wu Zhen Ye” by Dukang Site Brewery is an identical or similar trademark for identical or similar goods. Thus, the first-instance court rejected the registration approval made by the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board.
