China's welfare lottery center recently filed a lawsuit in Beijing No 1 Intermediate People's Court against the State Administration for Industry and Commerce Trademark Appeal Board over its ruling granting a Chinese-language trademark to a Guangxi animal feed company with the same initials as the lottery.
The lottery office said the abbreviation for its center is familiar to the public, so the animal feed trademark would cause confusion.
The appeal board previously found that the lottery center failed to prove its claim and upheld the feed company's trademark.
