Bloomberg wins trademark infringement case

The Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People's Court yesterday ordered a financial information company to pay Bloomberg 300,000 yuan (US$39,474) and publish an apology on its Website for 30 successive days, ruling that its name is a trademark violation.

But the court did not order the Shanghai Pobo Information Co Ltd and shareholder Shanghai Pobo Network Data Information Consulting Co Ltd to change their names. "Pobo" sounds similar to "Pengbo," Bloomberg's Chinese name.
