Jan 20, Apple sues Qualcomm in California for about $1 billion, saying Qualcomm "has been charging royalties for technologies they have nothing to do with".

April 10, Qualcomm files a countercharge, asking for damages from Apple for reneging on its promises in several agreements, and for interfering with Qualcomm's agreements with the companies that manufacture iPhones and iPads.

Late April, Apple and its suppliers stop paying patent licensing fees to Qualcomm.

May 18, Qualcomm sues four Apple suppliers for violating their contracts and not paying licensing fees.

June 20, Apple expands its lawsuit against Qualcomm, accusing it of "double-dipping" by way of unfair patent licensing agreements.

July 6, Qualcomm accuses Apple of infringing six patents, asking the United States International Trade Commission to ban the sales of some iPhones and iPads in the US that use chips made by competitor Intel.
