On January 16, the 2007 Annual Meeting of China's Online Game Industry was opened. Deputy Director of the Publication Administration Department under the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) Kou Xiaowei said that GAPP, together with relevant departments, will jointly introduce new measures to protect IPR of domestic online games enterprises.
Kou Xiaowei, any enterprise operating in China must abide by Chinese laws. In order to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, relevant management made the decision after careful consideration that in the IPR disputes between China's online games enterprises and foreign enterprises, once Chinese enterprises put forward arbitration or litigation, the examination on import approval of related products will be ceased immediately.
Kou Xiaowei hoped that GAPP would do its best for the copyright protection of online games and create a better developing environment for China's online game industry. [Chinese version is available on Hnce.com.cn]
