More than 500 craftsmen and performers will display folk art which has been listed as intangible cultural heritage in the square of Longhua Temple today.

The traditional treasures on display originated from Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. The exhibition is part of the Lantern Festival celebrations.

Performances include the lion dance, a traditional folk arrangement from Shanghai's Minhang District which was listed as the city's intangible cultural heritage last year.

The handicrafts of dough modeling and bamboo carving will also be displayed during the Lantern Festival activities.

Some arts performed today have already been named on China's state-level intangible culture heritage list by the State Council, according to the Xuhui District Culture and History Bureau.
