Shenzhen to legislate for TCM

It is learnt from Shenzhen Health Working Conference that, Shenzhen Health Bureau attached much importance to the legislation work on TCM work, and the Regulation of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone on Tradition Chinese Medicine is going to be released in 2008.

The Regulation focused on the protection, support, development, rectification and management on TCM work, and specified the issues concerning special funds, administrative institution of TCM, network construction of TCM healthy care, technological innovation, etc..

The Regulation also encouraged the collection and research work on TCM and legitimized TCM medical treatment. A principal introduced that, Shenzhen City always attached importance to the development of TCM. As of now, there are over 260 TCM institutions, accepting 3.9 million patients annually and accounting for 6.7% of the total number in Shenzhen.
