2007 International Copyright Forum opens in Beijing

This morning, the 2007 International Copyright Forum, jointly organized by the National Copyright Administration (NCA) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), opened in Beijing.

Director of the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) Liu Binjie attended and addressed the forum.

With "Internet Copyright Protection and Industrial Development" as its theme, the forum will explore the impact of copyright protection on Internet development and China's economy under the background of globalization, the role of copyright protection in creating a healthy and orderly market economic order, etc..

Apart from the main forum, the organizers will also open two sub-forums with the themes of "Copyright Protection for Network Publishing" and "Copyright Protection for Online Game Industry", which will focus on the practical issues emerging in the development of Internet industry.

The current forum is the second session. The first international copyright forum was held in Beijing last year with the theme of "Development and Innovation of Copyright-related Industry".
