One thousand trademark infringement cases investigated annually in Xinjiang

Since 2001, industry and commerce departments at all levels in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have investigated 6,562 trademark infringement cases, with an annual average amount of one thousand and imposed a total penalty of 14.105 million yuan on the infringers.
Among the investigated cases, 288 were foreign-related trademark infringements, involving the industries of clothes, cosmetics, home appliance, etc..
There are altogether 151 famous trademarks, 5 China Well-know Trademarks and 20 geographical indications in Xinjiang.
Trademark law enforcement focuses on the illegal acts of producing and selling foods, medicines, farm materials, seeds, clothes, auto parts that would harm the public's health and life safety, violating the exclusive rights of well-known and famous trademarks, farm product trademarks and geographical indications and imitating their packages and decorations; the infringements of foreign-related trademarks and the hideouts producing and selling fake products.
