Several infringement cases unearthed in Beijing

Recently the Beijing Administration for Industry and Commerce successively unearthed several IPR infringement cases related to famous brands like Nike, Adidas, Shiseido, Benz, BMW and Citroen.

On July 15, the officials from the Beijing AIC inspected two auto accessory markets and seized more than 2,000 pieces of counterfeit auto accessories that bore the trademark representations of Benz, BMW and Citroen.

On July 17, the Miyun Branch of the Beijing AIC made a decision of administrative punishment against a cosmetics distributor who sold infringing cosmetics in a supermarket. The rightholder, Shiseido China Co. Ltd., complained to the Miyun Branch that the cosmetics distributor in the supermarket was selling goods suspected of infringement upon its registered trademark. The officials from the AIC inspected the supermarket and seized 46 pieces of goods. The rightholder later confirmed that all the goods seized were counterfeit cosmetics.

On July 21, the Chaoyang Branch of the Beijing AIC inspected the Silk Street Market and found that counterfeit sports shoes and clothes were sold in 11 booths. The officials detained a total 1121 pieces of counterfeit sports shoes and clothes that bore the trademark representations of Nike and Adidas.
