Recently the Huangdao Customs in Qingdao of Shandong Province destroyed 15,500 pieces of infringing automotive brake linings, involving a value of 30,000 US dollars. The infringing brake linings were declared for export at the Huangdao Customs by an import and export company in Shanghai. Among the infringing brake linings, 7,500 bore the representations of the registered trademark owned by Toyota Motor Corp., and the other 8,000 had the representations of the registered trademark owned by Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. The Huangdao Customs confiscated the infringing goods. Since the infringing brake linings were of poor quality, which may endanger the safety of users, the Customs decided to destroy the infringing goods.
