Recently the Linhai Administration for Industry and Commerce in Zhejiang Province unearthed a trademark infringement case in which an interloper sold counterfeit eyeglass fittings of several famous brands, involving a value of RMB 1.25 million yuan.
In a rental room, the officials from the AIC found a total of 354,000 pieces of eyeglasses fittings, of which 250,000 pieces bore the trademark representations of "Ray·Ban" and "PRADA." Ye, the interloper, confessed that he had started selling the eyeglasses fittings to local eyeglasses factories since June 2006. He had sold out more than 1.2 million pieces of eyeglasses fittings, of which 1.191 million pieces had no trademark representations and 8,600 pieces bore trademark representations of famous brands. Further investigations will be made on the case.
