Lately, Director-General of China Intellectual Property Society (CIPS) and Senior Adviser of All-China Patent Attorneys Association (ACPAA) Tian Lipu attended and delivered the Cross-Straits Patent Practice Exchange and Cooperation Forum held by Taiwan Federation of Industries.
Director-General of Taiwan Federation of Industries Xu Shengxiong and Senior Advisor of Intellectual Property Committee Wang Meihua participated in and delivered the opening ceremony which was chaired by Cai Liansheng, Secretary-General of Taiwan Federation of Industries.
Tian Lipu expressed that the implementation of Cross-Straits IPR Protection Cooperation Agreement in 2010 turned a new page for IPR cooperation between Taiwan and the Mainland. The fact that Taiwan residents were allowed to take national patent attorney qualification examination in 2011 was another substantive breakthrough in IPR cooperation. At the moment, the enhancement of IPR cooperation between Taiwan and the Mainland will be of significance in promoting common economic prosperity and enriching residents.
Tian Lipu said that IPR service industry was the key pillar to effectively operate IPR system. And patent agency work is the core of IPR service industry. The enhanced cooperation between Taiwan and the Mainland will provide convenience for enterprises from both sides in technological innovation, fruit transfer and patent protection.
Xu Shengxiong denoted that Taiwan Federation of Industries would continue to act as the platform for IPR exchanges between Taiwan and the Mainland to promote cooperation and help enterprises to realize better development.
Wang Meihua said the implementation of Cross-Straits IPR Protection Cooperation Agreement went smoothly and the two sides mutually received priority claims. She expected to further promote the cooperation and communication between the two sides.
At the forum, participants exchanged views on patent attorney practice and Tian Lipu also elaborated on questions raised by the participants.
During the period in Taiwan, Tian Lipu visited related patent agencies and enterprises, studied the development of Taiwan patent agencies and enterprises and heard Taiwan insiders’ opinions and suggestions on how to deepen IPR cooperation between Taiwan and the Mainland.
