Patent strength of China Top 500 Enterprises rises prominently

According to newly-released 7th List for China Top 500 Enterprises, the patent strength of China Top 500 Enterprises has been prominently raised compared to that of last year.
In 2008, the total number of patents possessed by those enterprises has been greatly improved. However, the amount of invention patents still needs to be added, a relevant person said that.
The data in the List shows that each enterprise holds 302 authorized patents on average, in which, only 76 pieces are invention patents. But in 2007, each enterprise had 81 invention patents out of 259 authorized patents.
And in 431 enterprises who have completed the R&D data filing, the average R&D expense of every enterprise is 568 million yuan, taking 1.32% of its income, which is 0.29% lower than that of the previous year.
President of China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprise Director Association Wang Zhongyu expressed, domestic big enterprises should endeavor to accumulate deep technical resources and strong S&T capacity, form proprietary technologies and leading products having great influence in the same industries, increase R&D input, make themselves be at the leading position of enterprise innovation, and be the main body of R&D, the application of new technologies and innovation.
