After hearing the opinions of the members of the National Committee of the CPPCC on March 7, Vice Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office Yang Tiejun disclosed two sets of figures, which exposed the innovation weakness of China.
The latest statistic showed that 44.1% of domestic patents granted in China have life circle of ten years, while 83% of foreign patents granted in China have the same life circle, one fold more than domestic ones; 2.5% of domestic patents have life circle of twenty years, while 17.8% of foreign ones have such life circle, seven folds more than domestic patents.
Yang said the gap between the life circles of domestic and foreign patents indicated the innovation level and technology market situation of China.
In addition, Yang revealed that in EU's export trade to China, EU's patent application amount is 22.1 pieces per US$100 million; however, in China's export trade to the European Union, China's patent application amount is only 0.5 piece per US$100 million.
