US President Donald Trump has announced ten judicial nominees, including judges for four different circuits.
Trump has nominated Joan Larsen—who appeared on a list of potential nominees to the US Supreme Court during Trump’s election campaign, and John Bush, who practises in IP—to the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
For the Seventh Circuit, Amy Coney Barrett has been nominated. She currently serves as a professor at Notre Dame Law School.
David R Stras and Kevin C Newsom have been nominated to the Eighth and Eleventh Circuits respectively.
Stras has served on the Minnesota Supreme Court since 2010, while Newsom has previous experience as the solicitor general of Alabama.
Also nominated for district judge positions were David Nye (Idaho), Scott Palk (Oklahoma), Damien Schniff (California), Dabney Friedrich (Washington) and Terry Moorer (Alabama).
The announcements follow the successful nomination and confirmation of Justice Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
