Li Keqiang: Business innovation should focus on technical standards and brand building

During a tour of inspection in Jiangsu province from Monday to Tuesday, Vice Premier Li Keqiang stressed the need to grasp the general tone of making progress while maintaining stability and called for making long-term development programs based on current situations.

He highlighted that the expansion of domestic need would help ensure a steady and robust economic growth and the transformation and upgrading of economic structures would help bolster endogenous growth.

Situated in the forefront of China's open coastal economic zones, southern cities of Jiangsu province which have strong economic and technological strength with higher sensitivity to external market changes are undergoing a critical period of economic adjustment and development.

Li visited several leading companies in those cities after hosting a workshop with local authorities and company representatives from May 21 to 22.

During his visit to a high technology company, a manufacturer of new OLED products, Li asked in detail about the core technology, product applications and market conditions and said that in the context of fierce market competition, enterprises have to maintain a sustainable and healthy development by using innovative technology to explore potential needs and expand domestic and international markets.

When visiting Jiangsu Sujing Group, a manufacturer of air purification equipment, Li communicated with researchers on scenarios of the development of energy-saving and environmental friendly products and said that as a strategic and emerging industry, high-end manufacturing will definitely have extensive prospects due to a barrage of new demands generated by economic development and livelihood improvement. Enterprises should seize the opportunity of the growing market demand and the increasing national support policies to fully exploit technical standards and brands to develop more competitive products and services, which will not only stimulate the economic growth, but also improve people’s livelihoods.
