Guangdong, HK jointly hold creative industry and IPR forum

On November 29, the Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property Office and Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department jointly organized the Creative Industry and Intellectual Property Forum in Guangzhou.
Director of the Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property Office Li Zhongduo, Vice Mayor of Guangzhou Xu Ruisheng, Director of Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department Mr. Stephen Selby, and Director of Guangzhou Municipal Intellectual Property Office Wu Yuejing attended and addressed the forum.
Li Zhongduo talked on four aspects: the emergence of creative industry in the era of knowledge economy, the development of creative industry and intellectual property system, conditions for the development of creative industry in Guangdong and the function of IPR in promoting the development of creative industry.
Mr. Stephen Selby made a keynote speech entitled "IPR protection, prevention better than cure". He compared IPR infringements to diseases and the administrative and judicial protection to treatments, and introduced the prevention methods for IPR disputes.
