Xing Shengcai investigates IP model city work in Zhengzhou

In recent days, accompanied by Director of Henan Provincial Intellectual Property Office Guo Minsheng and Deputy Direcotr Zhang Qinghua, Head of the Discipline Inspection Group stationed at the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) from the Central Bureau of Discipline Supervision and Investigation Xing Shengcai and his delegates investigated the IP model city work in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province.
Vice Mayor of Zhengzhou Gong Liqun reported on the IP model city construction. On behalf of the Mayor, Director of Zhengzhou Science and Technology Department Wang Jichang presided over the reporting conference.
Xing Shengcai said at the conference that although Zhengzhou has a long history, it lacks effective patent protection system for the historic reasons and many precious inventions and technologies have lost. Therefore, IP protection in Zhengzhou must be strengthened.
More experiences on IP work shall be accumulated for central China's economic advancement and leap-forward development.
The national IP strategy will be considered and passed by the Executive Meeting of the State Council and the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee before the convening of the 17th CPC National Congress and then published by the CPC Central Committee.
The national IP strategy must promote China’s IP cause step into a new phase.
Xing suggested that Zhengzhou shall invite senior patent examiners to communicate on fostering of enterprises predominant in IP.
Gong Liqun introduced the situation of Zhengzhou being approved by the SIPO as the national IP model city.
Wang Jichang said, Xing's speech put forward important opinions on IP strategy from the national perspective in terms of policy, theory, idea, pertinence and guidance and had realistic significance to the construction of an IP model city. [Chinese version is available on SIPO.gov.cn]
